KC Health Department: These 342 food operations had the cleanest inspections in 2019

The Kansas City Health Department has recognized 342 food establishments with a 2020 Food Safety Excellence Award.

The award is given to full-service restaurants, fast-food operations, school cafeterias, hospitals, nursing homes, bakeries, convenience stores and grocery stores in the Kansas City area who have met or exceeded strict criteria pertaining to health inspections conducted in 2019.

Only 10% of permitted food service establishments receive the award. The department completes about 10,000 inspections annually.

Among the honorees were BC Bistro, Danny Edwards Blvd BBQ, Crows Coffee in the Red Bridge Shopping Center, CupSeecake A La Mode on the Country Club Plaza, Flying Horse Taproom in East Brookside, Cracker Barrel in the Northland, Mama’s Chirp’n Chicken catering operation, Sheridan’s Frozen Custard on Barry Road, and the Whopper Bar in the Power & Light District.
