Breakfast pizza with gravy, bacon and eggs? It will be on the menu at new KC restaurant
The owners of the two BrewTop Pub and Patio locations are planning a Northland pizza place.
Matt Behounek and Robert Chisam are setting a late August opening for Hot Rocks Pizza Kitchen at 10235 N. Oak Trafficway.
“I really love pizza, I really do. Pizza and wings have always been a favorite,” Behounek said.
They signed the lease in February, before the COVID-19 crisis
“It changed everything. You worry about when restaurants are going to reopen, something we have never encountered before. We just keep pushing,” he said.
Menu items will include Italian nachos (fresh fried wontons covered in Alfredo sauce and topped with pizza cheese, pepperoncini, black olives and diced tomatoes), the Ultimate Breakfast Pizza (with white gravy, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, fried potatoes and topped with Hot Rocks’ signature cheese blend), and Buffalo Dipped Drummies (French-cut bone-in fried chicken with a choice of sauces — hot, regular, mild, barbecue, spicy barbecue, honey barbecue, sweet Thai, teriyaki or garlic Parmesan).
They opened BrewTop at 8614 N. Boardwalk Ave. in March 2009, and then at Corbin Park, 6601 W. 135th St., Overland Park in 2014.
