Super Bowl celebration hunger pangs? There are special Chiefs menus at area restaurants
Chiefs fans are flocking to downtown Kansas City for the massive Super Bowl celebration today.
And while a few restaurants have closed for private events or to let their employees off for a day to celebrate, others are rolling out special menus.
Here’s a few:
▪ Affare, 1911 Main St.: Chiefs menu includes Brussels sprout soup with diced ham for $8, crispy chicken bites with spicy maple syrup and pickles for $10, German-style mac-and-cheese with ham and onion for $14, and a KC Chiefs burger with Swiss cheese and barbecue sauce for $8. Hours: 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
▪ Fox and Pearl, 2143 Summit St.: Condensed menu from 3 to 8 p.m. Items will include smoked pig head scotch egg for $11, pan-seared bologna for $15, smoked Duroc pork chop for $31, and duck meatballs for $23. Reservations are recommended.
▪ Lidia’s Kansas City, 101 W. 22nd St.: Specials will include a porchetta sandwich with chips for $15, and cavatappi served with marinara sauce and a meatball for $15, along with $5 desserts. Hours: 10 a.m. until sell out. Regular dinner hours are scheduled to start at 5 p.m.
▪ Plowboys Barbeque, 1111 Main St.: Grab-and-go on the patio includes sausage-on-a-stick for $10 (like the ones it sells at its Arrowhead Stadium kiosks), pulled pork sandwiches for $5 and chopped brisket sandwiches for $5. It also will have its regular service inside. Hours: Patio will be set up about 10:30 a.m. until shortly after the parade ends.
▪Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers, Belton, Blue Springs, Lawrence, Lenexa, Liberty, Northland, Overland Park, Shawnee, Westport: First 100 dine-in customers receive a gift card for a Free Box Combo. Doors open at 10 a.m.
▪ Shake Shack, Country Club Plaza and Leawood: Red Kingdom Shake — red velvet frozen custard shake topped with whipped cream. Available now through Sunday. Customers wearing their Chiefs gear will get a free shake today with every $10 purchase.
▪ Torn Label Brewing Co., 1708 Campbell St.: Taproom is now open with beer on tap and cans to-go. Johnny Jo’s Pizzeria is serving pizza-by-the-slice until it sells out.
