Ready for the Chiefs — and not headed to Arrowhead? Here are some food, drink options

Kansas City restaurants and bars are celebrating the Kansas City Chiefs AFC Championship weekend by offering everything from red and yellow bagels to cannoli to football-shaped pizzas. There also will be plenty of food and drink specials to fuel the festivities.

Here’s a roundup of Chiefs-themed specials. We’ll updated the list as more businesses finalize their plans.

The KC Live! Block, at 1330 Grand Blvd. in the Power & Light District, expects to host the metro’s largest watch party from noon to 10 p.m. Sunday. It will show playoff games through the day, along with the district’s bars and restaurants.

Best Regards Bakery & Cafe in Overland Park is offering Porchetta Party Packs. The packs have an 8x9 inch ciabatta “arrowhead” bun, slow-roasted pork belly (seasoned with a dozen herbs and spices), a half-pint of house-made pickles and special sauce to serve four to six people for $50.

Customers can order the party packs on Best Regards’ website or by calling 913-912-7238 by Saturday morning for pick-up on Saturday or Sunday.

“We’ve been promoting it for two weeks, right after the Kevin Harlan double call (during the final game of the regular season). We were so excited, it gave us chills and created a whole new feeling,” said Robert Duensing, owner of Best Regards. “I woke up at 2 a.m. saying, ‘I’m going to make a arrowhead-shaped ciabatta.’ It’s been very well received. Everyone is excited about doing it for the Super Bowl. We have our fingers crossed.”

The bakery also has several Chiefs-themed cookies including ones shaped like an arrowhead or a football helmet with the KC logo.

Guy Fieri’s Dive & Taco Joint in the Power & Light District will offer $1 red and yellow Jell-O shots from noon to midnight Jan. 19, $5 house margaritas and “Brown Bag” beers (one can of mystery beer in a brown bag) for $4.
