Hawaiian Bros restaurant brings Huli Huli chicken, Spam Musubi to North Kansas City

Locally owned Hawaiian Bros Island Grill is now open in North Kansas City.

Where: 101 Armour Road

Menu: It offers traditional Hawaiian plate lunches with white rice, macaroni salad and entree — in small, classic and large sizes.

Entrees include its signature Huli Huli chicken (chicken marinated in teriyaki sauce and grilled throughout the day), and the Luau Pig (slow-roasted kalua pork, pulled fresh by hand, with Hawaiian sea salt).

It also has seasoned vegetables, the Pacific Island salad (Huli Huli chicken, mandarin oranges, mushrooms, green onions, chow mein noodles, and a pinch of cilantro on romaine lettuce with Hawaiian Bros vinaigrette on the side), sandwiches and such sides as Spam Musubi (combo of rice and seared spam glazed in teriyaki sauce and wrapped in dried seaweed). It offers soft serve Dole Whip for dessert.

Hours: 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. daily

Other locations: Belton, Lawrence and Overland Park. A Lee’s Summit location is scheduled to open this spring.
