Here’s a quick sampling of restaurant news from across the metro.

▪ In September 2014, Fuddruckers said it would replace the former Cheeseburger in Paradise in the Legends Outlets Kansas City, 1705 Village West Parkway. The Fuddruckers sign is now up on the building and the remodel is nearly done. The company hopes to open the restaurant in late summer or early fall.

▪ The owners of Healthy Meals Inc., a 7-year-old customized meal delivery service at 1827 N.W. Vivion Road, have added Conscious Cafe. The cafe had a soft opening earlier this month with a grand opening on June 9. It serves coffee drinks, soups, salads, sandwiches, wraps, Greek yogurt parfaits, a muffin of the day and more.

▪ The Blind Tiger, 3945 Main St., plans a July 15 opening. Owners Blake Lostal and Colin Cook describe it as a 1920s-style speakeasy, restaurant and bar. It will serve sandwiches, wraps and salads. The space has been home to such operations as Muddy’s Coffeehouse and Club Forty-Four Hundred.

▪ A new owner has taken over the still-under-construction Se Asia Bistro at 1513 Grand Blvd. Eric Parrinello plans a short menu with a choice of beef, chicken, seafood, brown rice, fried rice, white rice and a noodle of the day. He’ll also offer soups and salads and will use local vendors.

The name will change to Mi Asia Bistro and it will have a fast-casual ordering style where customers walk down the counter to make their selections, much like Chipotle. It is scheduled to open by early July.

▪ The Logan’s Roadhouse, in the Plaza at the Speedway at 10780 Parallel Parkway in Kansas City, Kan., closed in early May, after just three years of operations.

The company issued this statement: “Closing any restaurant only occurs after the analysis of a number of factors driving to a final decision including the well-being of the people affected - our employees, our guests and the community that has supported our business over the years.”

The company also has an Independence location.
