In late October, Overland Park's Frida's Taqueria shut down in The Fountains shopping center with plans to relocate to a shopping center just to the west.

Ivan Marquez, founder and owner of Frida's Taqueria, said he would nearly double his space in the new location in La Paloma Plaza and it also offered more visibility.

Frida's Taqueria first opened in spring 2012 with such menu items as soft shell tacos, tamales, and flautas. Marquez also owns a full-service Overland Park restaurant, Frida's Contemporary Mexican Cuisine , at 7200 W. 121st St.

Marquez later decided the La Paloma space was too large for just a taqueria, so he brought in another partner, Arturo De Luna, to do a restaurant and bar called Terra Mexican Cuisine.

But the partners had different visions for the concept, so Marquez dropped out of the project. He now working on a new concept for the Country Club Plaza area.

Arturo and his wife, Maru De Luna, still plan to open Terra Mexican Cuisine, 6705 W. 119th St., in early June.

La Paloma also is adding another restaurant tenant, Louie's Wine Dive & Kitchen 119, which is scheduled to open in July.
