Kansas and Kansas City restaurant inspections for Feb. 1

Here are area restaurants with seven or more priority or critical health code violations, with highlighted links to some original public record reports by city or county health inspectors.

Restaurants correct most violations at the time of the original inspection or shortly thereafter. Links to the follow-up inspections show how each establishment has corrected or is working to correct any remaining violations.

The Kansas Department of Agriculture cited these operations for seven or more priority health code violations (direct links are not available):

▪ Asa Sushi Hibachi Lounge, 10088 Woodland Road, Lenexa, had 15 priority violations during a Jan. 25 routine inspection.

▪ Pei Wei Asian Diner, 15141 W. 119th St., Olathe, had 13 priority violations during a Dec. 18 routine inspection. It had three priority violations during a Jan. 22 follow-up inspection.

▪ Chero’s Taco Shop, 907C S. Parker St., Olathe, had 12 priority violations during a Jan. 24 routine inspection.

▪ El Porton Cafe, 4671 Indian Creek Parkway, Overland Park, had 10 priority violations during a Dec. 7 follow-up inspection.

▪ Kobi’s Club & Deli, 113 Oak St., Bonner Springs, had 10 priority violations during a Jan. 25 routine inspection.

▪ Mi Pueblito Meat Market, 7425 Quivira Road, Shawnee, had 10 priority violations during a Jan. 29 routine inspection.

▪ Dips & Sips, 5735 Johnson Drive, Mission, had nine priority violations during a Dec. 7 licensing inspection. It had one priority violation during a Jan. 4 follow-up inspection.

▪ Dragon Inn, 7500 W. 80th St., Overland Park, had nine priority violations during a Jan. 30 routine inspection.

▪ Pizza West, 5436 Roberts, Shawnee, had eight priority violations during a Dec. 19 follow-up inspection.

▪ 7-Eleven, 1550 S. Hamilton Circle, Olathe, had eight priority violations during a Dec. 18 routine inspection. It had no priority violations during a Dec. 28 follow-up inspection.

▪ Minsky’s Pizza Cafe & Bar, 934 Massachusetts St., Lawrence, had seven priority violations during a Jan. 10 routine inspection.

▪ Smashburger, 15241 W. 119th St., Olathe, had seven priority violations during a Dec. 19 routine inspection. It had two priority violations during a Jan. 9 follow-up inspection.

The Kansas City Health Department cited this operation for seven or more critical health code violations:

▪ The Doughnut Lounge, 4117 Pennsylvania Ave., had seven critical violations during a Jan. 26 routine inspection.
