KC Hopps has confirmed it will shut down one of its Blue Moose Bar & Grill operations.

The location has operated at 9100 W. 135th St. in Overland Park for about seven years.

Chris Sutton, CEO at KC Hopps, said he “could not secure an acceptable long-term lease” so the Overland Park restaurant will close on Jan. 28. He called it a relocation to the Red Bridge Shopping Center.

The Red Bridge location was announced in June 2017 and is expected to open in mid-March.

KC Hopps also recently shut down its Omaha Stroud’s restaurant after about a year of operations. Sutton said KC Hopps “could not reach acceptable lease terms with the landlord” for that location.
