Restaurant inspections for April 21
Here are area restaurants and grocery stores with 7 or more priority or critical health code violations, with highlighted links to the original public record reports by city or county health inspectors and the Kansas Department of Agriculture. Links to follow-up inspections are also highlighted.
Restaurants correct most violations at the time of the original inspection or shortly thereafter. Links to the follow-up inspections show how each establishment has corrected or is working to correct any remaining violations.

In addition, If a restaurant is temporarily shut down, a comment from the owner will be requested and a more complete description will be included with the online report.
The Kansas Department of Agriculture cited these operations for 7 or more priority health code violations:
▪ Korma Sutra Cuisine of India, 7217 W. 110th St., Overland Park, had 13 priority violations during an April 15 follow-up inspection. It had 5 priority violations during an April 16 follow-up inspection.
▪ El Potro Mexican Cafe, 13035 Canaan Drive, Bonner Springs, had 10 priority violations during an April 13 routine inspection.
▪ Fogones Mexican Delights, 11200 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, had 10 priority violations during an April 13 follow-up inspection.
▪ Sarpino’s Pizzeria, 12520 Quivira Road, Suite 220, Overland Park, had 9 priority violations during an April 6 inspection.
▪ Aloha Chopstix, 4316 Rainbow Blvd., Kansas City, Kan., had 8 priority violations during an April 8 licensing inspection.
▪ Papa Murphy’s Take ‘N’ Bake Pizza, 7652 State Ave., Kansas City, Kan., had 7 priority violations during an April 8 routine inspection.
▪ Sunflower Hills Golf Course, 12200 Riverview, Bonner Springs, had 7 priority violations during an April 9 routine inspection.
▪ Village Inn Pancake House Restaurant, 5800 Broadmoor St., Mission, had 7 priority violations during an April 13 inspection following a complaint.

The Kansas Department of Agriculture temporarily shut down the following operation. It has since been reinspected and allowed to reopen.
▪ Parkway Grille, Ramada Hotel, 7240 Shawnee Mission Parkway, Overland Park, had 7 priority violations during a March 23 follow-up inspection and “due to the activity of rodents in the establishment” there was an imminent health hazard and the grill was temporarily closed. It had 1 priority violation during a March 24 reopening inspection.
“The restaurant was leased out and was terminated and all the violations have been corrected,” said Phil Detrixhe, sales manager.

The Kansas City Health Department cited these operations for seven or more critical health code violations:
▪ Pizza Shoppe, 13612 Washington St., had 9 critical violations during an April 6 routine inspection. It had 5 critical violations during an April 10 follow-up inspection.
▪ Guadalajara Restaurant, 5224 E. Truman Road, had 8 critical violations during an April 6 routine inspection.
▪ Kim Long Asian Market & Restaurant, 511 Cherry St., had 8 critical violations during an April 6 inspection following a complaint.
