Update: Doughnut Lounge for Westport
The new Doughnut Lounge has signed a lease in Westport.
Partner Jake Randall will be working on some unique creations at a Kansas City catering kitchen in the City Market and plans to offer samples there before opening in the current Imagery space in late June.
Doughnut Lounge will have classic donuts for workers to pick up with a cup of coffee or juice in the morning, as well as more artisan offerings — cronuts (a croissant-doughnut pastry), a maple bacon flavor or a double chocolate Nutella — to eat at happy hour or late night with a glass of wine.
“We hope to be a classic doughnut shop in the morning, then fun nightlife with crazy creations,” Randall said.
On Wednesday, Imagery’s owner still hoped to renew his lease at 4117 Pennsylvania Ave.
“I did hope to renew for another year as we transition to online. That’s how everyone is buying clothes these days,” said Robert Reynolds, who purchased the store, then in Mission Farms in 2008 and moved it back to Westport in 2010. He plans to close the brick-and-mortar store at the end of the month.
Copaken Brooks, management company for the 2,533-square-foot space, confirmed Thursday that Doughnut Lounge has signed a lease for the space.
