Restaurant inspections for March 12

Here are area restaurants and grocery stores with 7 or more priority or critical health code violations, with highlighted links to the original public record reports by city or county health inspectors and the Kansas Department of Agriculture. Links to follow-up inspections are also highlighted.

Restaurants correct most violations at the time of the original inspection or shortly thereafter. Links to the follow-up inspections show how each establishment has corrected or is working to correct any remaining violations.

In addition, If a restaurant is temporarily shut down, a comment from the owner will be requested and a more complete description will be included with the online report.

The Kansas Department of Agriculture cited these operations for 7 or more priority health code violations:

▪ Carniceria La Siete, 309 N. Seventh, Kansas City, Kan., had 9 priority violations during a Jan. 26 licensing inspection.

▪ Club Paraiso Restaurant & Bar, 6550 Kaw Drive, Kansas City, Kan., had 9 priority violations during a Feb. 18 routine inspection. It had 3 priority violations during a March 9 follow-up inspection.

▪ Paddy O’Quigley’s Pub & Grille, 5317 W. 151st St., Leawood, had 9 priority violations during a Feb. 6 inspection following a complaint. It had 2 priority violations during a Feb. 20 follow-up inspection.

▪ Ross’s Catering,12601 Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, Kan., had 9 priority violations during a Feb. 11 routine inspection. It had 1 priority violation during a Feb. 23 follow-up inspection.

▪ Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market, 11010 W. 74th Terr., Shawnee, had 9 priority violations during a Feb. 9 routine inspection. It had 2 priority violations during a Feb. 20 follow-up inspection.

▪ Winstead’s, 8817 W. 63rd St., Merriam, had 9 priority violations during a Feb. 17 routine inspection. It had 2 priority violations during a March 2 follow-up inspection.

▪ Carma, Park Place, 11526 Ash St., Leawood, had 8 priority violations during a Feb. 3 routine inspection. It had 1 priority violation during a Feb. 13 follow-up inspection.

▪ China Star, 4988 Roe Ave., Roeland Park, had 8 priority violations during a Feb. 10 routine inspection. It had 2 priority violations during a Feb. 23 follow-up inspection.

▪ Cracker Barrel, 12101 S. Strang Line Road, Olathe, had 8 priority violations during a Feb. 5 routine inspection. It had no priority violations during a Feb. 17 follow-up inspection.

▪ Johnny Carino’s, Legends Outlets Kansas City, 1706 Village West Parkway, Kansas City, Kan., had 8 priority violations during a Feb. 23 licensing inspection. It had 3 priority violations during a March 10 follow-up inspection.

▪ Lone Star Steakhouse, Legends Outlets Kansas City, 1501 Village West Parkway, Kansas City, Kan., had 8 priority violations during a Feb. 23 routine inspection. It had 1 priority violation during a March 10 follow-up inspection.

▪ Sake Lounge, 11953 S. Strang Line Road, Olathe, had 8 priority violations during a Feb. 2 inspection following a complaint. It had no priority violations during a Feb. 13 follow-up inspection.

▪ Zio’s Italian Kitchen, 11981 S. Strang Line Road, Olathe, had 8 priority violations during a Feb. 13 follow-up inspection. It had no priority violations during a Feb. 27 follow-up inspection.

▪ Mr. Gyros Greek Food & Pastry, 14983 W. 119th St., Olathe, had 7 priority violations during a Feb. 2 follow-up inspection. It had 3 priority violations during a Feb. 12 follow-up inspection.

The Kansas City Health Department cited these operations for seven or more critical health code violations:

▪ Marble Top Cafe, 8436 Ward Parkway, had 10 critical violations during a Feb. 6 routine inspection. It had 8 critical violations during a Feb. 10 follow-up inspection, and no critical violations during a Feb. 20 follow-up inspection.

▪ Fast N Friendly, deli, 1108 E. Armour, had 9 critical violations during a Feb. 5 pre-opening inspection. It had 4 critical violations during a Feb. 9 follow-up inspection, no critical violations during a Feb. 11 follow-up inspection, and 5 critical violations during a March 9 follow-up inspection.

▪ McDonald’s, 11290 Holmes Road, had 9 critical violations during a Feb. 9 routine inspection. It had 3 critical violations during a Feb. 19 follow-up inspection and 1 critical violation during a Feb. 26 follow-up inspection.

▪ Bluestem, 900 Westport Road, had 8 critical violations during a Feb. 13 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during a March 6 follow-up inspection.

▪ Moonlight Japanese Steak House & Sushi, 8634 N. Boardwalk Ave., had 8 critical violations during a Feb. 10 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during a Feb. 20 follow-up inspection.

▪ Crayola Cafe, Crown Center, 2450 Grand Blvd., had 7 critical violations during a Feb. 2 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during a Feb. 9 follow-up inspection.
