Kansas, Kansas City restaurant health inspections for Nov. 15

Here are area restaurants with 7 or more priority or critical health code violations, with highlighted links to some original public record reports by city or county health inspectors.

Restaurants correct most violations at the time of the original inspection or shortly thereafter. Links to the follow-up inspections show how each establishment has corrected or is working to correct any remaining violations.

The Kansas Department of Agriculture cited these operations for 7 or more priority health code violations (direct links are not available):

▪ Bonito Michoacan, 1200 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, Kan., had 11 priority violations during a Nov. 2 routine inspection.

▪ KC Buffet (listed under KC Rainbow), 6457 Quivira Road, Shawnee, had 10 priority violations during a Nov. 9 inspection following a complaint.

▪ Gambino’s Pizza, 128 Oak St., Bonner Springs, had 7 priority violations during a Nov. 8 routine inspection.

▪ McDonald’s, 3725 State Ave., Kansas City, Kan., had 7 priority violations during an Oct. 25 inspection following a complaint. It had 6 priority violations during a Nov. 7 follow-up inspection.

▪ Save-A-Lot, 2102 Metropolitan Ave., Kansas City, Kan., had 7 priority violations during an Oct. 31 follow-up inspection.

▪ Smallcakes, 12221 Shawnee Mission Parkway, Shawnee, had 7 priority violations during a Nov. 1 routine inspection.

▪ Wal-Mart, 2300 Metropolitan Ave., Kansas City, Kan., had 7 priority violations during a Nov. 3 routine inspection.

▪ Wendy’s, 7807 Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, Kan., had 7 priority violations during an Oct. 25 routine inspection. It had 1 priority violation during a Nov. 7 follow-up inspection.

▪ Wilson’s Pizza & Grill, 1801 Quindaro, Kansas City, Kan., had 7 priority violations during a Nov. 3 routine inspection.

The Kansas City Health Department cited these operations for 7 or more critical health code violations:

▪ The Happy Dragon, 1230 W. 103rd St., had 14 critical violations during an Oct. 28 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during a Nov. 1 follow-up inspection.

▪ Asian Buffet, 511 N.W. Barry Road, had 11 critical violations during an Oct. 21 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during an Oct. 28 follow-up inspection.

▪ Houston’s, Country Club Plaza, 4640 Wornall Road, had 9 critical violations during a Nov. 3 routine inspection.

▪ iPho Tower, 1447 Independence Ave., had 9 critical violations during an Oct. 24 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during a Nov. 3 follow-up inspection.

▪ Ruins Pub, 1715 Main St., had 9 critical violations during an Oct. 28 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during a Nov. 3 follow-up inspection.

▪ China Dragon, 7809 N. Oak Trafficway, had 8 critical violations during a Nov. 2 routine inspection.

▪ O’Dowd’s Little Dublin, Country Club Plaza, 4742 Pennsylvania Ave., had 8 critical violations during an Oct. 24 routine inspection. It had 1 critical violation during a Nov. 2 follow-up inspection.

▪ Blue Hills Country Club, 777 W. Burning Tree Drive, had 7 critical violations during an Oct. 21 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during an Oct. 28 follow-up inspection.

▪ Johnny Kaw’s, 7439 Broadway, had 7 critical violations during a Oct. 28 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during a Nov. 4 follow-up inspection.

▪ One Eyed Jacks, 5044 N.E. Parvin Road, had 7 critical violations during an Oct. 26 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during a Nov. 1 follow-up inspection.

▪ Westport Cafe & Bar, 419 Westport Road, had 7 critical violations during an Oct. 29 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during a Nov. 4 follow-up inspection.
