Kansas, Kansas City restaurant, grocery store health inspections for Sept. 23

Here are area restaurants with 7 or more priority or critical health code violations, with highlighted links to some original public record reports by city or county health inspectors.

Restaurants correct most violations at the time of the original inspection or shortly thereafter. Links to the follow-up inspections show how each establishment has corrected or is working to correct any remaining violations.

The Kansas Department of Agriculture cited these operations for 7 or more priority health code violations (direct links are not available):

▪ Hy-Vee, 8501 W. 95th St., Overland Park, had 17 priority violations during a Sept. 15 routine inspection.

▪ Panzon’s Mexican Restaurant, 8710 Lackman Road, Lenexa, had 14 priority violations during a Sept. 15 routine inspection.

▪ Price Chopper, 7600 State Ave., Kansas City, Kan., had 12 priority violations during a Sept. 13 inspection following a complaint.

▪ Jazz A Louisiana Kitchen, 1859 Village West Parkway, Kansas City, Kan., had 9 priority violations during a Sept. 15 follow-up inspection.

▪ Golden Corral, 13440 S. Blackbob Road, Olathe, had 8 priority violations during a Sept. 14 inspection following a complaint.

▪ Grand Street Cafe, 8815 Renner Blvd., Lenexa, had 8 priority violations during a Sept. 19 follow-up inspection.

▪ Yard House, Legends Outlets Kansas City, 1863 Village West Parkway, Kansas City, Kan., had 7 priority violations during a Sept. 14 follow-up inspection.

▪ Carniceria El Torito, 6200 Independence Ave., had 12 critical violations during a Sept. 15 routine inspection.

▪ Barwaqo Restaurant, 1447 Independence Ave., had 11 critical violations during a Sept. 13 routine inspection. It had 2 critical violations during a Sept. 20 follow-up inspection.

▪ Mama Tio’s Downtown, 1111 Main St., had 11 critical violations during a Sept. 16 routine inspection.

▪ Reserve, Ambassador Hotel, 1111 Grand Blvd., had 10 critical violations during a Sept. 15 routine inspection.

▪ Zaina, 1108 Grand Blvd., had 10 critical violations during a Sept. 16 routine inspection.

▪ Neighborhood Cafe-Waldo, 7531 Wornall Road, had 9 critical violations during a Sept. 16 routine inspection.

▪ B.B.’s Lawnside BBQ, 1205 E. 85th St., had 7 critical violations during a Sept. 7 routine inspection. It had 1 critical violation during a Sept. 14 follow-up inspection.

▪ Blue Line, 529 Walnut St., had 9 critical violations during a Sept. 12 routine inspection. It had 1 critical violation during a Sept. 19 follow-up inspection.

▪ Crown Point Tavern, 2631 N.E. Vivion Road, had 9 critical violations during a Sept. 15 routine inspection.

▪ Voltaire, 1617 Genessee St., had 9 critical violations during a Sept. 15 routine inspection.

▪ Winstead’s, 101 Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd., had 9 critical violations during a Sept. 7 routine inspection. It had 4 critical violations during a Sept. 15 follow-up inspection.

▪ Pizza Shoppe, 13612 Washington St., had 8 critical violations during a Sept. 8 routine inspection. It had 1 priority violation during a Sept. 14 follow-up inspection.

▪ The Cheesecake Factory, Country Club Plaza, 4701 Wyandotte St., had 12 critical violations during a Sept. 8 routine inspection. It had 1 critical violation during a Sept. 20 follow-up inspection.

▪ Abarrotes Durango, deli, 6200 E. Truman Road, had 7 critical violations during a Sept. 15 routine inspection.

▪ Tacos El Guero, 6100 St. John Ave., had 7 critical violations during a Sept. 8 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during a Sept. 15 follow-up inspection.

▪ Burritos to Go, 4803 Independence Ave., had 7 critical violations during a Sept. 13 routine inspection.

▪ iPho Tower, 3623 Broadway, had 7 critical violations during a Sept. 13 routine inspection.

▪ Kato Japanese Cuisine Sushi & Teriyaki, 6340 N.W. Barry Road, had 7 critical violations during a Sept. 13 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during a Sept. 16 follow-up inspection.

▪ Roma Italian Restaurant, 211 N.W. Barry Road, had 7 critical violations during a Sept. 15 routine inspection. It had 1 critical violation during a Sept. 20 follow-up inspection.
