Kansas, Kansas City restaurant, grocery store inspections for Sept. 15

Here are area restaurants with 7 or more priority or critical health code violations, with highlighted links to some original public record reports by city or county health inspectors.

Restaurants correct most violations at the time of the original inspection or shortly thereafter. Links to the follow-up inspections show how each establishment has corrected or is working to correct any remaining violations.

The Kansas Department of Agriculture cited these operations for 7 or more priority health code violations (direct links are not available):

▪ Pancho’s Mexican Food, 8695 Bluejacket, Lenexa, had 17 priority violations during a Sept. 12 routine inspection.

▪ Edokko Japanese Cuisine, Sushi & Bar, 8615 Hauser, Lenexa, had 14 priority violations during a Sept. 7 routine inspection.

▪ Shogun Japanese restaurant, 12028 W. 95th St., Lenexa, had 13 priority violations during a Sept. 9 inspection following a complaint.

▪ Price Chopper, 7600 State Ave., Kansas City, Kan., had 12 priority violations during a Sept. 13 inspection following a complaint.

▪ Bonito Michoacan, 1150 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, Kan., had 11 priority violations during an Aug. 31 follow-up inspection.

▪ Grand Street Cafe, 8815 Renner Blvd., Lenexa, had 10 priority violations during an Sept. 7 routine inspection.

▪ Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway, Turn 2, 777 Hollywood Casino Blvd., Kansas City, Kan., had 10 priority violations during an Sept. 1 routine inspection.

▪ Touch of Asia, 6860 W. 105th St., Overland Park, had 10 priority violations during a Sept. 8 follow-up inspection.

▪ Bonner Springs Price Chopper, 501 S. Commercial St., Bonner Springs, had 9 priority violations during an Aug. 31 follow-up inspection.

▪ Callahan’s Pizzeria Pub Grill, 11316 W. 135th St., Overland Park, had 8 priority violations during a Sept. 8 follow-up inspection.

▪ Chin Hills Asian Grocery, 3708 State Ave., Kansas City, Kan., had 8 priority violations during an Aug. 30 routine inspection.

▪ Pei Wei Asian Diner, 9222 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, had 8 priority violations during an Sept. 7 routine inspection.

▪ Quiznos, 1601 Village West Parkway, Kansas City, Kan., had 8 priority violations during an Sept. 1 follow-up inspection.

▪ Wal-Mart Supercenter, 10824 Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, Kan., had 8 priority violations during a Sept. 1 routine inspection.

▪ Burger King, 540 S. 129th St., Bonner Springs, had 7 priority violations during a Sept. 12 follow-up inspection.

▪ Fiorella’s Jack Stack Barbecue, 9520 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, had 7 priority violations during a Sept. 1 routine inspection. It had 3 priority violations during a Sept. 13 follow-up inspection.

▪ Frontera’s market, 761 Central Ave., Kansas City, Kan., had 7 priority violations during a Sept. 6 follow-up inspection.

▪ Supermarket El Torito, 1409 Central Ave., Kansas City, Kan., had 7 priority violations during a Sept. 1 follow-up inspection.

The Kansas City Health Department cited these operations for 7 or more critical health code violations:

▪ Fusion Buffet, 4039 Mill St., had 10 critical violations during a Sept. 2 routine inspection. It had 7 critical violations during a Sept. 9 follow-up inspection.

▪ Bo Lings, City Market, 20 E. Fifth St., had 9 critical violations during a Sept. 6 routine inspection. It had 2 critical violations during a Sept. 12 follow-up inspection.

▪ Jalapeno Brothers, 8140 N.W. Prairie View Road, had 7 critical violations during a Sept. 1 routine inspection. It had 1 critical violation during a Sept. 6 follow-up inspection and 1 critical violation during a Sept. 9 follow-up inspection.
