Boulevard makes national ‘best’ craft breweries list

The Daily Meal, a website covering food and drink topics, has named Boulevard Brewing Co. one of its “50 Best Craft Breweries in America.”

The Daily Meal admits it is a subjective list, and one that its readers have some very strong opinions on. So it first asked its panel of experts to narrow the field.

The panel selected 118 breweries — some new breweries that have “really started to make a name for themselves, as well as older standbys that continue to brew excellent, consistent beer year after year.” The final 50 craft breweries offer a range of great brews, rather than those that are known for one standout beer.

Boulevard is No. 23 on the list.

Founders Brewing in Grand Rapids, Mich., took the top spot and Stone Brewing Co. in Escondido, Calif., came in second.

In 2013, Daily Meal named the 25 Best Craft Breweries. This year it decided to double the list — “more of a good thing being, of course, excellent.”
