Arrowhead’s new offerings: linebacker burger, Charlie Hustle T-shirts
Kansas City Chiefs fans can fuel up on everything from chocolate bacon pizza to sriracha kettle corn topped hot dogs at Sunday’s home opener.
Levy Restaurants’ executive chef Leo Dominguez, now in his fourth season at Arrowhead Stadium, said fans wanted more variety.
“We take a lot of input from fans, a lot of input internally from both the Chiefs organization and the Levy organization. We take all that input and try to roll it into the best offerings we can,” Dominguez said.
His new offerings, and where to find them:
▪ Linebacker Burger: Topped with chili, cheddar cheese, green onions on a brioche bun seared with a Chiefs logo. Club level Flame Grill Stand, section 233 and 210.
▪ The Chop: 16- to 18-hour smoked bone-in beef short rib, glazed with barbecue sauce and served with Texas toast and crispy onion straws. Available in the club level Kansas City BBQ Stand, section 215 and 238.
▪ Shock Top Brat: Regular or spicy brat made with Shock Top beer and topped with sautéed peppers and onions on a fresh roll. Available in the suites and on the club level at section 218.
▪ Hand Made Pretzel Box: Hand-made pretzels (buttered, buttered and salted, and cinnamon sugar) made in-house and finished off in the oven right before delivery. Served with spicy mustard, beer cheese dip and vanilla glaze. Available in the suites.
▪ Pork Belly Slider: Smoked pork belly with syrah barbecue sauce and cucumber slices on a toasted New England bun. Available in the suites.
▪ Chocolate Bacon Blitz Pizza: peanut butter, chocolate fudge sauce, bacon and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups on a pizza crust. Club level Primo Stand, section 228 and 204.
Aramark, the concession provider for the upper- and lower-level concourses, also is rolling out The Coop in Section 122. It will have a crispy chicken club with hand-breaded chicken breast topped with smashed avocado, Swiss cheese, bacon and tomatoes, and the Chicken Parm Sandwich, a hand-breaded chicken breast topped with spinach, mozzarella cheese and marinara sauce.
Other new menu items at the Foolish Dog (sections 2017, 131, 322):
▪ BBQ Stak: Waffle fries topped with pepper jack cheese sauce, coleslaw, smoked beef brisket, charred corn and sweet potato poblano relish, and roasted apple crunch.
▪ Brew Pub Nacho: Tortilla chips topped with white American and beer cheese sauce, beer-glazed short ribs, semi-roasted tomatoes and puffed barley.
▪ Sweet & Spicy Dog: Charred hot dog topped with cilantro slaw, pineapple relish and sriracha kettle corn.
And at the Mac Shack (sections 104, 117, 301 and 326) look for the new BLT Mac and Cheese: three cheese macaroni topped with bacon lardons, sauteed leeks and diced tomatoes.
Arrowhead also has teamed up with Kansas City’s Charlie Hustle Clothing Co. on seven new Kansas City Chiefs-themed T-shirts, most selling for $32.
“It was very important to connect to the community and the local community is very attached to their brand, to their shirts and we wanted to bring that to Arrowhead and to the Chiefs,” said Tim Witkowski, district manager for Aramark.
The stadium is also offering an “order online and in-store pick-up” feature for the first time through shop.chiefs.com.
