Obama, who landed in Tokyo just before 7 p.m. local time on the first stop of a four-nation, week long trip, arrived at the restaurant about 90 minutes later, along with U.S. Ambassador to Japan Caroline Kennedy and national security adviser Susan Rice.
Obama, wearing a black suit, shook hands with Abe, who sported a gray suit. Neither men wore ties.
