A 21-year-old Kansas City man was charged Saturday with multiple felonies in connection with a police chase that ended with a child being shot in the foot.

The charges included two counts of child endangerment and attempted assault of a law enforcement officer.

Pierre C. Hill-Williams was also charged with resisting arrest in the incident that began with an attempted traffic stop Friday morning on Bruce R. Watkins Drive.

Prosecutors have requested a bond of $150,000.

Documents say that after the attempted stop, Hill-Williams drove his car in the direction of a motorcycle officer who, “fearing for his safety, dropped his motorcycle, drew his duty weapon and fired at the red Magnum which struck the victim’s motorcycle.”

A 1-year-old girl in the car was struck with a bullet. At a hospital where the girl was taken, Hill-Williams’s wife identified a photo of her husband.

Hill-Williams denied to police that he was driving the car.
