Oklahoma man seriously injured in three-vehicle I-29 crash
FAUCETT, Mo. (News-Press NOW) - A 29-year-old Oklahoma man was seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash before 3 p.m. on Friday, on Interstate 29, three miles south of Faucett, Missouri. Four others involved in the crash experienced minor injuries in the crash.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the crash occurred as a the front of a northbound 2007 Toyota Camry, driven by a 29-year-old Heavener, Oklahoma man, struck the rear of a 2019 GMC Acadia, driven by a 51-year-old Kansas City, Missouri woman, which then struck the rear of a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 57-year-old Overland Park, Kansas, man.
The Toyota crossed the center line and traveled off the right side of the interstate and came to a rest on its wheels. The GMC came to rest in the passing lane of I-19 and the Chevrolet came to a controlled stop off the left side of the highway.
The Oklahoma man was taken with serious injuries by Buchanan County EMS to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.
The driver and occupants of the GMC, a 13-year-old Kansas City male, and a 47-year-old female were taken with minor injuries by Platte County EMS to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.
The driver of the Chevrolet was taken with minor injuries by Buchanan County EMS to Mosaic Life care.
Trooper J.D. Schmedding was assisted at the scene by Cpl. J.M. Harrison, Trooper C.C. De Alba, the Buchanan County and Platte County sheriff's offices.
