7 people injured in KC crash, including 1 who was riding in trunk: police
Kansas City police are investigating a Tuesday morning crash on Wornall Road that injured seven people, including one person who police said was riding in the trunk of one of the vehicles.
A Nissan Kicks, which was occupied by six people, was driving north on Wornall Road near its intersection with Ward Parkway, when it failed to stop for a red light and hit a Ford that was headed east, said Sgt. Phil DiMartino, a spokesman for the Kansas City Police Department. The crash happened around 10:15 a.m. Tuesday.
All seven people from the vehicles were taken to local hospitals with injuries, police said. The person who was found in the trunk of the Nissan suffered critical injuries in the crash, and the others suffered minor injuries, DiMartino said.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
