Thousands without power as storms roll through Kansas City metro
Thousands are without power Thursday as storms sweep through the Kansas City metro area. Johnson and Jackson counties have been especially hard-hit.
Nearly 6,000 customers are without power in Jackson County as of 6:30 p.m., according to the Evergy power outage viewer. Nearly 5,000 are without power in Johnson County.
According to Evergy, the Kansas City area is experiencing delayed restoration times.
The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for the metro area from 3 p.m. Thursday to 3 a.m. Friday.
