Pilot survives after ultralight aircraft crashes Sunday in rural Clay County
One person was badly injured after a small plane crashed Sunday in rural Clay County, authorities said.
At about 6:55 p.m. Sunday, an ultralight aircraft crashed near a private landing strip at 20600 Old 210 Highway, Sarah Boyd, a spokeswoman with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, said in an email to media.
The pilot, who was conscious and talking to first responders at the scene, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, though they don’t appear to be life-threatening, Boyd said.
No one else was in the plane.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating. No other information was immediately available.
