A multi-vehicle crash backed up eastbound traffic on Interstate 70 in Independence just before rush hour Tuesday.

Kansas City Scout, a traffic camera program through the Missouri Department of Transportation, showed emergency vehicles in the area of a crash on the interstate, just west of Little Blue Parkway.

According to KC Scout, the predicted clearance time of the crash is about 5:30 p.m.

Sgt. Jason Petersen, a spokesman with the Independence Police Department, said there were “minimal” injuries.

He said four vehicles were involved and had to be towed from the scene: a Ford F150, a minivan, a Jeep Cherokee and a Ford Explorer.
