Motorcyclist, 24, killed in crash Sunday morning in Independence, police say
A 24-year-old motorcyclist was killed Sunday morning during a crash in Independence, according to police.
The wreck occurred about 11:15 a.m. on South Noland Road, just north of U.S. Route 40, when the driver of a 2016 Lincoln Navigator tried to turn into a Hy-Vee in front of the motorcyclist, according to the Independence Police Department.
Police have not publicly identified the motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet. She was taken to Centerpoint Medical Center, where she died, according to police.
No one else was injured in the crash, which remains under investigation.
