11-year-old girl struck by vehicle and killed Monday in Sedalia, police say

A young girl was killed Monday after she was hit by a vehicle in Sedalia, police said.

At 3:11 p.m. Monday, police were notified of a crash in the area of North Engineer Avenue and East Saline Street, according to a news release from the Sedalia Police Department.

At the scene, police found an 11-year-old girl who had been hit by a vehicle, the release said. The girl later died.

The child’s name has not yet been released publicly, nor had additional information on the vehicle she was struck by.

Anyone with information on the crash, or who witnessed it unfold, is asked to call the police department’s traffic unit at 660-827-7823.
