Will impatiens escape disease if they’re in containers?
With the new problems you were writing about, should I be ok if I plant strictly in pots with new potting soil mix every year, should I be ok? I’ve never had any issues with impatiens before. - Jana
Answer:Thanks for your question. Planting impatiens in new pots using new potting soil is a good strategy for avoiding downy mildew disease, however it’s as risky as the plant you purchase. So try to find the healthiest plants you can buy. Make sure you follow Dennis Patton’s suggestions for watering that were in his article. - Laura, Johnson County Extension
