The Ewing and Muriel Kauffman Memorial Garden and the Anita B. Gorman Discovery Center native gardens sit next to each other, but their structure and approach are far apart. The professional staff of the Kauffman garden will serve as guides to the European-style garden with its 7,000 plants, conservatory, pools and fountains. At the discovery center, master naturalist volunteers will give tours of native plant gardens, including upland and lowland forests, prairies, ponds and wetlands. The free tour begins at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Kauffman parking lot, 4801 Rockhill Road. For more info, call 816-665-4456 or visit mggkc.org.
