Stroud’s beat Niecie’s Restaurant with 62 percent of the popular vote, while Go Chicken Go toppled Rye with 74 percent of the vote. That means Stroud’s and Go Chicken Go will face off in the 4th and final round.

Our chicken bracket launched on Feb. 24 with 16 restaurants. Since then, readers have cast more than 8,500 votes in three rounds to narrow the field to two.
Round 4 could be the closest yet. Stroud’s is famous for pan-fried chicken and has locations in Kansas City, Independence, Fairway and Overland Park. The James Beard Award-winning chain dates back to 1933.
Go Chicken Go, founded in Kansas City, Kan., in 1969, is known for crispy chicken served fast. The locally owned business has one location in Kansas City, one in Olathe and three in KCK.
