Roasterie coffee for Keurig machines will be on the way soon

Keurig fans are getting an early Christmas present from the Roasterie.

Starting before Thanksgiving, Roasterie coffee for Keurig machines will be available locally.

Roasterie owner Danny O’Neill is waving a white flag in his decade-long resistance to selling coffee in the disposable single-serve cups. The move will probably unleash a vast stream of green for the uber-successful hometown roaster, celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.

“I just hated the idea, and I’ve been fighting it off since the late ’90s,” O’Neill said. “But I changed my mind this spring when it became the number one question people were asking on our tours. At the end of the day, we can either be so right and so self-righteous and so alone, or we can give our customers what they want.”

Six existing blends will be offered in the Keurig cups to start: 40 Sardines, Betty’s Recipe, Breakfast Blend, Classic Cup Cafe Blend, Full Vengeance Dark Blend and Kansas City Blend.
