Here’s your chance to see one of our nation’s premier examples of Second Empire Victorian architecture gussied up for the holidays.

Tour the elegant rooms of Vaile Mansion, with their marble fireplaces and crystal chandeliers, which will be decorated with elves, snowmen and fairies.

The mansion is at 1500 N. Liberty St., Independence. Hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 p.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, now through Dec. 30. Admission is $6 for adults; $2 for children. For more information, go to VaileMansion.org.
