A lot of features stand out at Barrel 31, the whiskey bar on Martini Corner at Union Hill: Its red chile-glazed edamame, its Heirloom Beet-nick salad. Jameson, the bartender, who created an old-fashioned whiskey sour — complete with an egg white — for me when I told him how I longed for a frothy Pisco sour. (He didn’t have Pisco, so he improvised.)

I’m also drawn to the place by its decor. Large south-facing windows give the place a warm glow during the day. At night the high barback with a sliding ladder, brick walls and rustic wood floors is softly lit with industrial-chic fixtures. The place reminds me of Soho. As in New York.

They’re not an exact match, but the Murray Feiss Hounslow large pendants, for $229 at 1-800-Lighting.com, and the Zuo Era Sapphire 12-light ceiling lamp, for $485.97 at Wayfair.com, are close matches to the lights at Barrel 31. I also like the climbing chains on a brick wall in the dining room. They look a lot like the wall-mounted “Climbing Man” sculptures that sell for $98 each at BlissHomeandDesign.com.
