Keeping backyard chickens

Powell Gardens is offering a workshop on the latest suburban adventure — keeping laying hens in your backyard.

You’ll get to meet Powell Garden’s favorite girl, Little Miss Crankyfoot (who’s reportedly as sweet as can be), as you learn about chicken behaviors, the basics of good chicken care, the benefits of a backyard flock and how to start your own.
