Check out the seed library at the Kansas City Public Library’s Ruiz Branch

The Kansas City Public Library’s Ruiz Branch, 2017 West Pennway, has created a seed library that allows patrons to “check out” vegetable and flower seeds to plant in their home gardens. Next fall, when they harvest seeds from their plants, they’re asked to return them to the library to be distributed the following year.

Also, to celebrate the launch, the Kansas City Community Gardens staff will be on hand at 6 p.m. May 19 at the Ruiz Branch to discuss vegetable garden basics. For more information or to RSVP, go to
