Take part in Powell Gardens’ annual butterfly count

The North American Butterfly Association annual butterfly count helps track wild butterfly populations across the country, contributing to our understanding and conservation of them.

You can take part in the official count from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Powell Gardens in Kingsville, Mo. Participants will take a 4-hour hike on a 3.25-mile nature trail to find butterflies restricted to the Gardens’ natural habitats.

Gardens admission payable at the gate plus a $3 participation fee, required by NABA. Call 816-697-2600, Ext. 209, to make reservations.
