Powell Gardens is hosting several workshops Saturday, including one on basket-making from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The class is for novices and veterans of basket-weaving alike. Whether or not you have made a basket in the past, the class is designed to give you skills as well as a basket to take home.

The cost is $42 for members; $49 for nonmembers. All materials will be provided. Bring a sack lunch or a snack as the class will not break for lunch.

To register, call 816-697-2600, Ext. 209. Other workshops focus on carving animals from clay, beekeeping, astronomy and Zentangle, a calming method of drawing structured patterns.

For more information on all workshops, go to the calendar page at PowellGardens.org.
