In the market for a television set? They used to be much more of an investment than they are today.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ CPI Inflation Calculator, that $469.95 20-inch TV set from 1967 would set you back about $3,380 in 2016 dollars. The other models’ prices equate to about $3,884 today.

But that new Samsung flatscreen doesn’t sport these units’ “high performance handcrafted chassis” and rich maple woods.
