Golden Retriever Duo Has a Foolproof Trick for Getting Mom's Attention Every Time
Having one dog usually means they can get what they want with one adorable look. Logically, if you get your dog a dog, they'll team up and secretly strategize so they both get what they want. It's a fail-proof system, and because they're too cute, we are powerless!
Golden Retrievers Maui and Hugo knew this from the first time they unintentionally joined forces and combined magical powers with a pretty smart trick all dog parents will understand.

Before the younger Golden Retriever, Hugo, came along, Maui had already perfected the stare-down move. Thanks to Ruby, the resident Corgi and boss of the house, the duo becomes a trio of pups who would absolutely get anything they want if they lived in my house. Actually, I do have two dogs, including a Corgi CEO, so I can confirm all of this is accurate.
With more than 2 million TikTok followers, I think Mom and Dad are onto them... but who cares when you're this sweet?! There's a reasonable theory about this that I've learned means nothing.

The thought is: By giving your dog a dog, the first fur child won't be so bored that they make staring at us their favorite hobby. In this case (and mine), the plan failed because now there are multiple pups staring! Maybe the only cure is to get your dog's dog a dog, too?
"Regional Manager and Assistant to the Regional Manager," one fan of The Office compared the dogs. Hundreds of others got a kick out of the post, sharing photos of their own glaring pooches so the rest of us dog parents don't feel so alone in our struggles.
But seriously-Maui and Hugo are too precious for their own good.

Why Do Dogs Stare at Us?
When your pup is doing a dedicated, hard stare-down, experts say it's because they want something (obviously). Whether it's affection, attention, a walk, or food, they've learned how to communicate through our previous responses in reacting to their stares.
Basically, they've trained us to respond quickly to whatever it is they want, so they'll keep doing it. Dogs are way too smart! If you need any more convincing, I'm sure Maui and Hugo are prepared to once again show you their mysterious (and adorable) ways!
