TV reporter doesn’t flinch while spider crawls down her arm; viewers are not so calm
Creeped out, creeped out, creeped out.
That about explains how viewers reacted as they watched a spider crawl onto the shoulder and down the bare arm of a Texas reporter on live TV Wednesday.
And Shannon Murray did not miss a beat.
The Fox 4 News reporter was reporting on a protest at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport on Wednesday when the eight-legged visitor crawled on her.
She kept talking but viewers at home freaked out and tried to warn her via social media.
“SHANNON! YOU HAVE A SPIDER CRAWLING ON YOUR LEFT ARM!” one viewer screamed in a Facebook post as he watched.
Murray’s colleagues, as colleagues are apt to do, posted video of the creepy encounter to the station’s Facebook page, where it’s been viewed more than 350,000 times.
Murray told viewers she knew something was crawling on her.
“For those asking, YES I felt it! But I had no idea it was a spider until a VIEWER let me know on Facebook! EEK,” she wrote on Facebook.
Viewers applauded her aplomb and said they wouldn’t have been as cool.
One noted that at least she didn’t react like this TV host, whose encounter with a lizard on live TV is memorialized on YouTube.
Murray seemed shocked that she was still talking about her close encounter on Friday.
