For the Great Plains SPCA, Uber, and some lucky folks, that meant Thank God It’s Felines on Friday.

Great Plains SPCA and Uber partnered for UberKITTENS Day in Kansas City, a fundraiser for the animal shelter. Between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. customers could hail an Uber kitten visit, which lasted 15 minutes. The $30 “snuggle fee” helps the shelter. The kittens were available for adoption after the event.
It’s apparently a popular program, because it took an hour for us to get through to a driver. Within 5 minutes of hailing one, three kittens in a crate arrived in our parking lot.
Their brief visit turned out to be a wonderful break for us — and for many others in the area who were lucky enough to get some kitten time, too.
