Police officer injured in hit and run

A Kansas City police officer was injured Friday night in a vehicular accident in which the driver of the other vehicle involved left the scene.

The two vehicle accident happened around 11 p.m. at 38th Street and Benton Boulevard in Kansas City. Police had few details about how the accident occurred but said the officer, whose name was not being released at the time of this report, was taken to an area hospital.

Police were searching the area for the driver of the other vehicle involved. Police were investigating the cause of the accident.
