Kansas City Fashion Week
Don’t miss the runway shows from nights two and three of Kansas City Fashion Week at Union Station. Friday’s 8 p.m. show features designers like Lauren Bander and Paulie Gibson and will be hosted by Channel 41’s Kacie McDonnell. Saturday’s 8 p.m. show, hosted by Fox 4’s Abbey Eden, offers a chance to support local designers Architexture, Tomboy Design, Lucia’s Sarto, Erin Paige, christianMICHEAL and Andrea Marie Long Designs. Women in Jazz at The Art Factory
The Laura Caviana Duo will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. at The Art Factory in a new series that highlights women in jazz. The performance will be Caviani’s first at The Art Factory in overland Park. Caviani, a native of Minneapolis, Minn., is an acclaimed pianist and composer. Tickets for the event are $10 and can be purchased here.
Greater Kansas City Home Show
If you snagged a ticket to this year’s home show at Bartle Hall, you’re in luck. Chip and Joanna Gaines, the couple behind HGTV’s hit show “Fixer Upper,” will be appearing at this weekend’s show to talk all things reno. Ticket holders can gain insight from more than 300 vendors, as well as enjoy a rock climbing tower and a beer garden. The show starts at 10 a.m. Saturday with appearances by Chip and Joanna at noon and 3 p.m.
Matthew Morrison with the KC Symphony
This one-night-only performance is a must-see for Broadway enthusiasts. “Glee” alumnus Matthew Morrison will join the Kansas City Symphony to perform the classics at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. We’re talking hit Broadway tunes and Frank Sinatra’s “Luck Be A Lady,” and “Lady is a Tramp.” The show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets range from $45 to $95.
Superhero Weekend at the KC Zoo
See Thor and Captain American come to life at the Kansas City Zoo from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Bring your kids and your camera, because you’ll want to capture the moment. Members of the zoo will receive admittance to a special meet-and-greet with the action heroes from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Sunday.
The Easter Bunny at Crown Center
With Easter only about a week away, hop on this opportunity to get your child’s picture with the Easter bunny. The beloved bunny will be available for photos from 12 to 4 p.m. on the Level 1 Atrium of the shops at Crown Center. Photos are available for a fee, or you can choose to take your own.
