Pancakes and Booze Art Show
Free pancake bar? Count us in. This traveling underground art show features more than 50 emerging artists in Kansas City. For $5, you can enjoy live music, body painting and all the pancakes you can muster from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. at 2000 Grand Boulevard in downtown K.C.
Blake Shelton
Strap on your boots and get down, country style. Country singer and judge on NBC’s “The Voice” is sure to bring a lively, upbeat show to Sprint Center. Doors open at 6 p.m. and opener Chris Janson starts at 7:30.
Saturday
Jax Fish House Oyster Eating Contest
Take that, Joey Chestnut. Jax Fish House’s annual oyster eating contest isn’t just entertainment, it’s charity. Watch teams of four battle to see who can eat the most oysters in two minutes, all while contributing to the Midwest chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The eatin’ starts at 2 p.m. and the winning team receives $1,000.
KC Brew Fest
From noon to 4 p.m. at Union Station, enjoy live music, food and craft beers from more than 40 breweries. Tickets to the annual brewfest are $35 for general admission and $45 for a VIP pass, which includes an extra hour of tasting.
Sunday
Newsies at Music Hall
You won’t want to miss this Broadway hit. The Tony-award winning musical tells the story of a “rebellious newsboy” who rises up against a powerful publisher. The Disney show plays at 1:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. at the Music Hall.
