Uniquely Kansas City
There’s something new cooking on the Country Club Plaza
At the end of a narrow, grassy alleyway surrounded by concrete parking garages along the side of The Raphael Hotel on the Plaza, lies something quite unexpected. There, tucked away in a cloud of aromatic smoke, you’re bound to spot Chaz on the Plaza’s chef Charles d’Ablaing masterfully attending to slowly smoked ribs and decadent burnt ends.
As commonplace as barbecue may seem in Kansas City, the historic Raphael Hotel has taken on the task of making it new. They’ve combined their delicious barbecue with a host of other quintessential Kansas City experiences for a truly unique package designed for KC natives and novices alike.
Their brand new Uniquely Kansas City Experience package combines food (a one-on-one barbecue session with chef d’Ablaing), music (reserved seating at Chaz for an evening of live jazz accompanied by a personal discussion with a local musician), education (tickets to the American Jazz Museum and the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum), shopping on the Country Club Plaza and cocktails (mixology class with local tastings) for an intimate submersion into the cultural heritage of Kansas City.
The package also includes accommodations in a lavish Presidential Suite featuring, among many other things, a two-person water-jet tub. Ooh la la!
