Mingle with a former Olympian and U.S. Figure Skating champion Friday at Cleaver & Cork from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Brian Boitano will be mixing his special KC Gold cocktail and will be available for autographs and photos. The Young Friends of Art is hosting its annual Party Arty at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art from 8 to midnight. This year’s “Imagine” theme will showcase avant-garde art. Party goers will be able to enjoy food and drinks from Tom’s Town, Lidia’s, Doughnut Lounge and Donutology while they dance to music by DJ Mike Scott. Bowie the Actor Series
Pay tribute to David Bowie’s artistry with the Kansas City Public Library’s film series starring the actor and singer. On Saturday, the library will be screening the 1996 film Basquiat, in which Bowie played famous artist and provocateur Andy Warhol. The showing begins at 1:30 p.m. at the Central Library location.
