Trick-or-Treat 39th Street

Wear your creepiest costume for West 39th Street District’s annual Trick-or-Treat event. From 5 to 7 p.m., roam the streets of State Line Road and Southwest Trafficway for a night of freaky fun (and candy, too). Click here to read more about the event.


American Royal World Series of Barbecue

See the town’s best pitmasters and enjoy live entertainment at the annual American Royal World Series of Barbecue. Gates open to the public at 11 a.m. at Kansas Speedway, where more than 500 barbecue teams will compete in various categories. From 11 a.m to 3 p.m., the Cowtown Family Fun Fest will feature inflatables, face painters, a petting zoo, pony rides, and stage entertainment for the kids, and country music artist Tyler Farr will take the Budweiser Stage at 7:15 p.m. For the full schedule of events, click here.

Masquerade Ball: Gatsby Gala

Kansas City’s historic Union Station hosts the Halloween bash you don’t want to miss, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Wear your roaring ’20s gear and enjoy a night filled with feather boas, fedoras, wing tips and prohibition-style beverages. To purchase tickets, click here.


Boo-tastic Fun at Crown Center

Bring your whole family to Crown Center Sunday for Halloween-themed festivities from 12 to 4 p.m. Kids can get their pictures taken with the Wicked Queen from noon to 4 p.m. and StoneLion Puppet Theatre will be on hand to perform their “Boneyard Jamboree.” The event is free and takes place on the Level 1 Atrium in the Crown Center Shops. Halloween Movie Night at KC Live!

Feel like getting spooked with hundreds of your closest friends? Head to the Power & Light District for a 7:30 p.m. showing of the original version of Halloween. The event is free for ages 21 and up, and food and drink specials begin at 6 p.m. For more details, click here.

Ice Cream Social with Glacé

Indulge in local beer and ice cream at Boulevard’s new Beer Hall from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. This month, Boulevard teamed up with Christopher Elbow and Glacé Artisan Ice Cream for an epic ice cream social. Sip on beer, chat with Boulevard’s Tours & Rec team and enjoy a three-flavor ice cream flight and beer samples. Come in costume and you’ll receive a full pour of your choosing.
