Sponsored by Halls on Grand
Kansas City’s original department store, founded in 1916 by Joyce C. Hall, is celebrating 100 years this fall. To commemorate the anniversary, Halls has planned a number of pop-up shops, events and displays for their loyal customers to enjoy.
If you find yourself near Crown Center, stop by Halls for a walk down memory lane with their retrospective displays. You’ll be able to see decades of design through historical Halls photographs, vintage fashion ads and mannequins clothed in apparel dating back to the store’s first days.

Halls will also celebrate their 100th anniversary through a variety of in-store pop-up shops, including an appearance from designer Freida Rothman, a made-to-measure event featuring Ermenegildo Zegna suits and vintage handbags from timeless designers such as Chanel and Louis Vuitton.
An auction benefiting Children’s Mercy Hospital will also be available, with curated items like Oscar de la Renta beaded tassel earrings, a Carmen Marc Valvo dress, and an Ermenegildo Zegna exclusive made-to- measure suit.
Through the auction, customers can also bid on more than 40 items donated by fashion partners and celebrities like Paul Rudd and Jason Sudeikis. These items include tennis shoes signed by Ellen DeGeneres, an Eli Tahari handbag, a special occasion dress by Catherine Regehr, shoes by Donald Pliner and Rebecca Minkoff, a unique piece of Waterford by lead designer John Connolly, Stuart Weitzman shoes, and a Bill Haas-signed golf bag from Peter Millar.
