Celebrate the beginning of the Chiefs’ 2016 season at the Power & Light District with Chiefs players and cheerleaders starting at 5:30 p.m. The party includes live music, drink specials and Charlie Hustle merchandise for sale. Westport’s annual art festival begins Friday at 1 p.m. in the streets of Kansas City’s historic district. Top artists from around the area will showcase art, jewelry and fine crafts throughout the weekend. See what else the art fair has in store here.
Sprint Family Fun Days
Gather your family for the Ultimate Field Day in the Power & Light District beginning at 11 a.m. The event is free for families and includes bounce houses, sports games, fitness activities and music from Brandon Draper’s drums. Activities last until 3 p.m. between Main & Walnut Streets. Click here for information on parking and admission.
Fall Wine Walk
Sip on wine while you shop your favorite stores at The Village at Briarcliff. From 12 to 5 p.m., stop by Nell Hill’s open house or stroll through Pinot’s Palette for a $5 cover fee. Proceeds from the price of admission will go toward Feed Northland Kids and ten percent of your purchases from select stores will also go to the organization. Crossroads Music Fest
Enjoy the sounds of Kansas City’s music scene with more than 35 artists on nine stages Saturday in the Crossroads Arts District. Radkey will headline the annual festival, which raises funds for its presenter, radio station KKFI. Other artists performing include Kelley Hunt, Not A Planet, Jessica Paige and The Phantastics. Join more than 5,000 participants as they run in the annual Plaza 10K in the heart of the Country Club Plaza. The event, which benefits KidsTLC, also includes a 2-mile Fun Run and a Kids Run. Participants will be treated to food and drinks from area restaurants. The 10K begins at 7:30 a.m., followed by the 2-mile Fun Run at 7:50 and the Kids Run at 9:30. Click here to register.
Chiefs vs. Chargers
Football is back, and this Sunday the Chiefs will host their first game of the season against the San Diego Chargers at Arrowhead Stadium. The game begins at 12 p.m., but we’re sure the parking lot will fill up for Kansas City’s passionate tailgaters well before kickoff. Tickets to the game can be purchased here.
