We’re celebrating our 10th anniversary with a delectable dessert and Champagne bash! And what’s a celebration without a little sweet? Whether that sweet is a sparkling wine (see Buying the Bubbly for expert advice) or a tasty cake embellished with creamy frosting roses, we’re encouraging you to celebrate your next festive occasion with a similar fete.

The tantalizingly tender layers of vanilla cake lavished with raspberry cream icing that serves as centerpiece to this merrymaking is from Dolce Bakery in the Prairie Village Shops. It’s displayed on an Arte Italica cakestand accented with a pewter-bead rim that’s from Terrasi Living. A cotton-candy machine purchased online got the party started. Using ribbon-trimmed chopsticks for the cone and multiple flavors of floss sugar for the candy (floss sugar can be purchased at Ranch Mart Ace Hardware), a few simple twirls and it’s cotton candy worthy of the county fair. Our tabletop is strewn with diminutive arrangements of fresh roses and hyacinths from Beco Flowers in the Crossroads that echo the roses on the cake. Pretty as a picture!
