Muse at the Museum
The Young Friends of Art’s summer fundraiser takes place Saturday at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art at 7 p.m. Attendees will be able to sip on vodka and gin cocktails from Tom’s Town and snack on local bites from Spin! and Insomnia Cookies until midnight. The party can be enjoyed both inside in the Bloch Lobby and outdoors in the Sculpture Park. Tickets are $80 apiece and can be purchased here.
Watch the Kansas City Zoo become an icy paradise when zookeepers pour two tons of ice in the Polar Bear Passage starting at 11:30 a.m. A specially carved ice sculpture will also be available for the river otters, and different animals will receive icy treats throughout the day. Kids can even get their picture taken with winter princesses and their snowy companions from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Click here for more information.
